JOINT FOMATORS’ MEETING AT JHANSI. U.P.
FEBRUARY 23 -24, 2013

WITH GRATITUDE TO SR. SABINA, SR. LEENA PINTO AND SR. AGNES, SR. GEMMA ,
POSTULANTS AT DIVYANJALI.

The primary objective of religious formation is to prepare individuals for total Consecration to God in love, to follow Christ and be at the service of the Church and her mission. The expectations and obligations placed upon us is to say ‘yes’ to the Lord’s call, to take personal responsibility for maturing in one’s vocation. Our whole life must be open to the action of the Holy Spirit, journeying in faith with gratitude, commitment and generosity, accepting the grace offered by the Lord and the Church.

It is true that all Christians are called “to the holiness and perfection of their particular state”, their mission is to make Christ’s way of life shine through the witness of the evangelical counsels, thereby supporting the faithfulness of the whole Body of Christ.

We are given a mission and a challenge to foster the holiness of the Church. Therefore we aspire to a life of creativity, constantly empowered by the charism, nourished by the spirituality of the congregation and reaching out in service through the apostolate. It is fitting to remember our Founder, Fr. Adrien Bresy and the founding sisters who responded to the challenges and difficulties of their times with a genuine Charismatic dynamism.

Vocation is therefore God’s free call and our free response. The God who has called us in the past continues to call us today to the fullness of life and share in his ministry. The young woman who comes to us is not fully aware of its implications, and she must be helped to respond to Christ’s call with freedom. So formation is to make her become aware of the uniqueness of the call, in the depth of her being and motivate her to commit totally, freely and responsibly to the person of Christ and His people in love and service.

THE FORMATION PROGRAMME IS TO HELP THE WOMAN IN THIS PROCESS OF DISCERNMENT AND SELF-COMMITMENT IN AN INTEGRATED MANNER; TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE GROWTH OF THE TOTAL PERSON, HER HUMAN, SPIRITUAL, APOSTOLIC AND COMMUNITARIAN DIMENSIONS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE VISION, MISSION, AND LIFE OF THE SISTERS OF ST. CHARLES BORROMEO.
