A very pleasant morning to all of you gathered here for this Eucharistic celebration. As we have gathered here at the altar of the Lord, we the sisters of St. Charles Borromeo are delighted this morning to celebrate the 336th anniversary of the foundation of our congregation.

Foundation day of our congregation evokes in us a sense of gratitude for the manifold blessings we have received from the Lord.

Today is a day to recall the wonders of the Lord, A day to celebrate the joys of the present, And a day to surrender to the vision for a better tomorrow.

Songs of praises ring in our hearts as we look back with gratitude to God for his presence through the saga of ages and centuries gone by. The congregation had its humble beginning in the village of Wez-velvain in the dioceses of Tournai, Belgium. It was born in compassion for the poor, the ignorant and the deprived.

We recall with great admiration and gratitude our founder Rev.Fr.Adrian Bresy, Our Pioneers  Mother Marie Catherine Warquain,  Mother Elizabeth Lepe,  Mother Marie Anne Lepez,  Mother Marguerite Delrue And Mother Marie Barbe Delrue who formed the nucleus of the newly founded congregation. They began the task of reading the signs of the time, of discerning God’s presence in our history and God’s action in our world and in our country .They entrusted to us the task of not only keeping alive the charism but to make it fully alive ,making it relevant to the needs of the people of the 21st century.

Thanks to their toil, faith and progress that lead the congregation to spread its branches to various countries in compassionate service through different apostolates. We have travelled so far because of the divine providence, faithfulness and steadfast love of our God.

As we rejoice in the abundant blessings let us thank our awesome God for our founder Rev. Fr.Adrien Bresy for his vision and mission for our congregation; For our pioneers for their faithfulness towards the Lord’s calling; For all our sisters who are gone ahead of us for their continuous intercessions; For Our senior sisters for their commitment and exemplary life.

On this special day we join the entire charlian family to express our gratitude to the Almighty God for our congregation , its achievements, accomplishments and all the triumphs we gained for the glory of the lord during the past 336 years of our existence.

During this Eucharistic celebration we pray for our Superior General Rev.Sr.Alena Fernandes  and her councillors, Provincial Superior Rev.Sr.Wilma Rebello and her councillors and all the Provincials and Regional Superiors and their councillors and every member of our congregation and formees  that  all of us may be faithful to our vocation and  carry out the spirit  of the congregation with more enthusiasm and commitment, with new zeal and new hope to reach out to the poor with compassionate love and mercy.

We also pray for all the priests, well-wishers, benefactors, spiritual directors, family members and all the people who have helped, collaborated, supported and guided us to carry out the mission with great courage and optimism. May the zeal of our founder Fr.Adrien Bresy, intercession of our patron St.Charles  Borromeoe and faithfulness of  all our predecessors bless us to proclaim ……………

For all that has been thank you Lord

For all that will be yes Lord.

May the light of God surround us,

The love of God enfold us,

The power of God protect us and

The presence of God watch over us  ,as we celebrate the 336th  anniversary of the foundation of our congregation.

The blessings are so numerous

it's hard to even start

to number or to name them but

they all hold a place in the heart

Finally, sisters, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
